Festus R6 School District

The Festus R-VI School District is committed to responsible fiscal management of taxpayer dollars.  The primary objective of the District’s financial planning is to ensure Festus schools have the resources they need to provide for our students, faculty and staff.  This encompasses the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff, construction of new facilities to accommodate a growing enrollment, a vibrant extracurricular calendar, and providing the necessary tools and supplies needed for a high-quality education.  The District and the school board are committed to maintaining a balanced budget with reserves of approximately 28%-32% every year.  Read more about the Festus R-VI School District’s priorities in the Vision for R-VI in 2026 Strategic Plan.

We believe it is important to keep patrons informed about how the district is funded and how we allocate those resources.  More information about revenue, expenses,the District’s tax rate and assessed valuation can be found below.  But, first it is important to understand how school budgeting works in Missouri.  This structure is set out in state law.
